Marc Quinn, artist has created Kate Moss in a solid gold statue called Siren.  It is valued at $2.75 million USD or £1.5 million. It is said to only weigh 50kg, though, which is just 110 pounds.

A solid gold statue of supermodel Kate Moss worth £1.5 million is being unveiled in the British Museum today.

Siren is the work of artist Marc Quinn whose most famous sculpture was Alison Lapper Pregnant which appeared on the Fourth Plinth in Trafalgar Square.

His sculpture of Moss said to be the largest gold statue to be made in the world since the time of Ancient Egypt.

Speaking about choosing the supermodel as a subject, Quinn said: “I thought the next thing to do would be to make a sculpture of the person who’s the ideal beauty of the moment.”

The 50kg statue will be displayed in the Nereid Gallery of the British Museum, alongside other statues such as Crouching Venus, a Hellenistic model of Venus surprised while bathing.

Quinn’s latest work, which shows Moss in a yoga pose, is part of a collection, entitled Statuephilia, by contemporary artists going on display at the British Museum.

It is the second time the London-born artist has used the model as his muse. He previously created Sphinx, a white-painted bronze sculpture of the fashion icon.

Quinn is also known for Self, a bust of his head made from eight pints of his own frozen blood.

Kim Kardashian has started rigorous training schedule for Dancing with the Stars and she hopes all that dancing will have a positive affect on her famous backside.

“I’m hoping that it’ll firm it up and shape it up,” she said during a launch party for the Pink Blackberry Curve at L.A. boutique Intermix. “Everyone is asking if I’m worried it’s going to go away. No, it’s going to tone it up. I can use that.”

Kim had this to say about showing off her curves:

“Today the costume that I tried on wasn’t as crazy, [but] the better shape that I get into they will be a little more sexy and risqué,” she said. “I’m starting off with maybe a ball gown, something a little bit more elegant and a little bit more covered up.” But it shouldn’t be too long before she’s dancing in sexier costumes. Kardashian, who upped her fitness regime in preparation for the competition, is now dancing eight hours a day with pro partner Mark Ballas. “I’m seeing a slight change [in my figure].”

Usually drunk actress Tara Reid has debuted a new line of bikinis and casual wear at the “When I Move You Move” Fashion Show in Las Vegas.

Tara’s Mantra line of fashions features designs decorated with trinkets, charms, and beads in eight vibrant colors meant to inspire emotions.

Tara Reid has turned her personal style into a clothing line called ‘Mantra’ so that you and all your loved ones can get her look without having to shop on Hollywood Boulevard.

The washed-up star’s collection of t-shirts, dresses, bikinis, ponchos and hoodies priced at $65-180 will be decorated with beads and charms that tell a different ’story’ about the wearer, such as ‘I’m not wearing anything under this’ (see above). Tara elaborates in a statement:

MacKenzie Phillips, 48, was arrested earlier today (August 27) at LAX International Airport for alleged possession of crack cocaine and heroin.

Mackenzie Phillips has been busted at LAX for allegedly possessing heroin and cocaine. She’s in custody right now.

At 10:00 AM, officers responded to Terminal 4, where 48-year-old Phillips was being screened by TSA. During the screening process, some baggies and balloons believed to contain heroin and cocaine were recovered.

Heidi Montag has debuted her new music video (above) for “Overdosin.’” The Hills star, 21, plays an ’80s aerobics instructor as she dances around in lycra, legwarmers and a sweatband.

The pop song, released last week, “is about when you fall in love with someone,” she recently told Ryan Seacrest. “[About] how I feel about Spencer and my relationship.”

When Seacrest asked if a wedding could possibly inspire her next single, she joked, “I’m waiting for the ring to make that song.”

The producers of American Idol have decided to add a forth judge. Songwriter Kara DioGuardi is set to join Simon, Randy, and Paula as a judge.

Scoot over, Simon Cowell. “American Idol” is adding a fourth critic to its panel of judges.

Grammy-nominated songwriter Kara DioGuardi will sit alongside Cowell, Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson when the eighth season of “American Idol” premieres in January, the Fox network said Monday.

“For the past seven seasons, Paula has had to endure the experience of being the only woman at the judges’ table,” said Mike Darnell, president, alternative programming of Fox, in a statement.

“With Kara by her side, Paula has some backup and now there is going to be a lot more `girl power’ on the show,” Darnell said.

DioGuardio’s songs have been recorded by Kelly Clarkson, Christina Aguilera, Gwen Stefani, Celine Dion, Faith Hill, Carrie Underwood and Pink, among others.

“We are turning the heat up on `Idol’ this year and are thrilled to welcome Kara to the judges’ table,” said creator and executive producer Simon Fuller in a statement. “She is a smart, sassy lady, and one of America’s most successful songwriters. We know she will bring a new level of energy and excitement to the show.”

Executive producer Cecile Frot-Coutaz said a fourth judge isn’t a new idea.

“We had originally intended for `American Idol’ to have four judges,” she said. “We’ve seen from our international series that having a fourth judge creates a dynamic that benefits both the contestants and the viewers.”
