Austin Nichols Biography, Filmography, Pictures, NewsAustin Nichols is truly one of Hollywood’s young rising stars. Nichols most recently was seen on TV starring in HBO’s “John From Cincinnati” and in a recurring role on the CW’s “One Tree Hill.” He was also recently seen on the highly acclaimed HBO series “Deadwood” as Wyatt Earp’s younger brother.

Austin’s feature film credits include Jerry Bruckheimer’s “Glory Road” opposite Josh Lucas and Derek Luke, the hit film “The Day After Tomorrow,” opposite Jake Gyllenhaal, and “Wimbledon,” opposite Kirsten Dunst and Paul Bettany.

In addition to his feature film roles, he has also starred in two indie films: “House of Usher,” a contemporary adaptation of Edgar Allen Poe’s short story, in which Austin plays opposite Izabella Miko, a dark, contemporized adaptation of the short story’s ‘Roderick Usher;’ and “Lenexa, 1 Mile,” a film about four best friends living in a small town.

Nichols was born on April, 24 1980 and raised in Austin, Texas, and moved to Los Angeles to study creative writing at USC. He received his Bachelor of Arts in English while simultaneously pursuing a career in acting. It was not long before Hollywood took notice. Nichols got his start with recurring roles on HBO’s “Six Feet Under,” and Fox’s drama “Pasadena,” opposite Alison Lohman.

In addition to acting and writing, Nichols comes from an impressive athletic background. He was ranked 3rd in the world in water skiing and won the 1997 Pan American Championship. He also enjoys golf, tennis, and horseback riding, the latter inspired by his Texas upbringing and an obsession with John Ford. Nichols is a cinephile who admires Hal Ashby and Sam Fuller.  Nichols currently resides in Los Angeles, California.
