Vincent Price Biography, Filmography, Pictures Vincent Price was a generous philanthropist and exceptionally brilliant actor of horror films. He was born on 27th May, 1911. He was nick named Bink, King of the Grand Guignol, and Merchant of menace. Vincent Price did various memorable villain roles with black humor. You can always remember him as wicked person taking revenge or screaming on his death. He used to dress up in his character’s costumes to see his movies. Vincent Price was man of knowledge, he won 32 thousand dollars in 1955 on game show named, “The $64,000 Question”

He was grandson of inventor Vincent Claerence Price, famous for Dr. Price’s cream of tartar, and baking powder. From very young age, he was given the best of education and was brought up in the sophisticated and cultured society. In his youth, majestic and handsome Price was 6′4″. Known to be an intellectual, Price had a gift of refined speech. He got interested in theater in the 1930s. He was capable to expression in a wide range. Not many people knew that he once played a one man show about Oscar Wilde. Vincent Price studied art, history and Fine Arts from Yale. He was also an active member of Curtailed Institute, London. He was a passionate collector of art work. He donated more then 90 original works of art to East Los Angeles College. This generous donation was first of the teaching art collection in US. In light of his wishes this exhibition can still be visited as Vincent Price Gallery for free.

Vincent Price is known to be rather superstitious. He and Christopher Lee shared same birthday. Vincent had a Mystery novel book company. He had an excellent memory and remembered his entire dialogues and movie script. In 1964 he recorded 20 minute segment in one piece. He worked for both CBS and BBC in their mystery programs. Vincent Price frequently appeared as ‘Egg Head’ in Batman in 1960s. Vincent Price’s first film was Service Deluxe. His first horror film was Tower of London, in which he stared against Boris Karloff. “Collectors Item” was the movie in which he played the role of antique dealer/detractive. He had worked on the famous film The Ten Commandments. His personal favorite role was in the movie The Last Man on Earth. He played the devil in film, The Story of Mankind. His last film was Edward Scissorhands.

Vincent Price Egg Head Vincent Price was a Life Board Member of the Horror Movie Museum named Witch’s Dungeon. This Connecticut based museum houses the replica of the characters from memorable horror movies. Vincent Price’s popular characters in the films are The Fly, The Abominable Dr. Phibes and The Masque of the Red Death. He was a kind hearted and generous man; he generously donated for the theater alma mater, St. Louis Country Day School.

He got married three times, had a son and daughter. After his death in 1993, his daughter Victoria Price wrote a detailed biography on her beloved father. It was published in 1999, in the book she affectionately recalls the real person behind on screen image. It shows that Vincent Price was a true admirer of arts and crafts and regularly kept visiting art galleries. Over the years he collected a priceless collection of original art work of some of America’s best known artists. He was fond of gardening; he had an exquisite collection of rare cymbidium orchid. Vincent Price was also a good cook. He wrote many cooking books and shared his knowledge about cooking through his delicious recipes.
