Vincent Price was a generous philanthropist and exceptionally brilliant actor of horror films. He was born on May 27, 1911. He was nick named Bink, King of the Grand Guignol, and Merchant of menace. Vincent Price did various memorable villain roles with black humor. You can always remember him as wicked person taking revenge or screaming on his death. He used to dress up in his character’s costumes to see his movies. Vincent Price was man of knowledge, he won 32 thousand dollars in 1955 on game show named, “The $64,000 Question”
He was grandson of inventor Vincent Claerence Price, famous for Dr. Price’s cream of tartar, and baking powder. From very young age, he was given the best of education and was brought up in the sophisticated and cultured society. In his youth, majestic and handsome Price was 6’4″. Known to be an intellectual, Price had a gift of refined speech. He got interested in theater in the 1930s. He was capable to expression in a wide range. Not many people knew that he once played a one man show about Oscar Wilde. Vincent Price studied art, history and Fine Arts from Yale. He was also an active member of Curtailed Institute, London. He was a passionate collector of art work. He donated more then 90 original works of art to East Los Angeles College. This generous donation was first of the teaching art collection in US. In light of his wishes this exhibition can still be visited as Vincent Price Gallery for free.
