Drew Barrymore Biography, Filmography, PicturesDrew Blyth Barrymore (born February 22, 1975) is a US actress, film producer and film director, appearing for the first time in a film in 1980. Her role in the film E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial was a breakout and she soon became a well established child actresses. She became an adult actress without any problems with several films, establishing herself in romantic comedies like The Wedding Singer or Lucky You.

As the Ambassador Against Hunger for the United Nations World Food Program, she made donations of more than $1 million to the program.

Barrymore was born in Culver City, California in a family of actors, her great-grandparents, her grandparents and her parents were all actors.

Barrymore’s actor career began at an early age, being hired for a dog food commercial at eleven months old. She debuted in a film with the Altered States (1980), having a small role. The following year she appeared in E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, a film that made her famous. Later on, in 1984 she got a Golden Globe nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in Irreconcilable Differences.

As a child actress, Barrymore had a troubled childhood, smoking cigarettes, drinking alcohol, smoking marijuana and sniffing cocaine at very young age, being in rehab at only 13 years old. In 1992, when she was 17, she posed nude for the cover of Interview magazine and appeared nude in pictures in the inside of the same magazine. In 1993, she received her second Golden Globe nomination for the film Guncrazy and posed nude for the Playboy magazine in 1995. In the following years Barrymore repeatedly appeared in several romantic comedies – Wishful Thinking (1996), The Wedding Singer (1998) or Home Fries (1998).

In 1995, Barrymore founded the production company, Flower Films. Their first production was the Never Been Kissed in 1999; followed by Charlie’s Angels in 2000, film that was a box office success. In 2003, her performance in Olive, the Olive Reindeer earned her an Emmy Award nomination.

In 2005 she is the subject of a documentary about her, My Date with Drew. Barrymore earned a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on February 3, 2004. In February 2007, Barrymore was the host of Saturday Night Live for the 5th time; on October 10, 2009 she hosted it again, being the first female to host the show six times. In 2007, Barrymore became model and spokesman of CoverGirl Cosmetics and being No. 1 in People’s annual 100 Most Beautiful People list.

In 1991, Barrymore was engaged to Leland Hayward, engagement that was called off a few months later. She was engaged again in 1992-1993 with musician & actor Jamie Walters. From March 20 to April 28, 1994 Barrymore was married to bar owner Jeremy Thomas; her second marriage with comedian Tom Green lasted from July 7, 2001 to October 15, 2002. In 2002, Barrymore started dating drummer Fabrizio Moretti, breaking up after five years, on January 10, 2007. Most recently she dated Justin Long, but they also split in July 2008.

In the 1990s, she was often described as bisexual; in March 2007 Jane Pratt stated in her Sirius Satellite Radio show that she had a love affair with Barrymore in the mid-nineties.
