Jamie Lee Curtis did a lot of horror movies in the beginning of her film career. Her popular horror films are Halloween, Prom Night and Terror Train, and The Fog. She is extremely gifted and brilliant actress. She has covered all genres of movies through her versatile acting, including, comedy, horror, action and romantic movies. In 1998 her books Other Moods That Make My Day and Today I Feel Silly were categorized as bestsellers in The New York Times. Jamie Lee Curtis got married to actor Christopher Guest. She is wife of a lord and titled Lady Haden-Guest. However she insisted not to utilize the title when she is in the United States. Currently, Jamie Lee Curtis is the spokeswoman for Activia; she is a successful blogger for online newspaper a prominent The Huffington Post.

In 1962, Jamie Lee Curtis’s parents got divorced. Her mother re-married Robert Brandt. Kelly Curtis her older sister is also an actress. She attended Beverly Hills High School and Westlake School in Los Angeles. Jamie Lee Curtis graduated from Choate Rosemary Hall California. In 1976, she returned to California and Jamie did her graduation from the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California. She wanted to complete her major in social work, but quite to continue her career in acting. Jamie Lee Curtis’s debut film was released in 1978. It was a horror movie named “Halloween” she played lead role of Laurie Strode; she was the only teenager who didn’t get killed. “Halloween” was a huge success and it was thought to be blockbuster movie in that time. Her debut film is now considered a classic horror film. Afterwards, Jamie Lee Curtis was consequently typecast in several similar horror movies. Her powerful performance was acknowledged and she was titled “scream queen”.

Though her acting was heavily criticized by the film critics in this film and her name was dropped out from the nominee’s list. Terror Train that released latter that year in October; she played a similar role like Prom Night. Jamie Lee Curtis starred in much anticipated sequel Halloween II, 20 Years Later and Halloween and Halloween H20. After all those typecast appearances in movies Jamie Lee Curtis is still identified as an Icon when it comes to Hollywood horror film celebrities. Latter she tried her luck as a sex symbol in movie 1984’s Love Letters and switched from horror to other genre of films. Her comedy movies are wonderful to watch. Jamie Lee Curtis has showed variety in her performance and didn’t stay limited to on type of films. Her horror, action, and comedy all type of films are well appreciated in audience. She proved herself as a true versatile actress.
