Actress Bea Arthur is highly generous in her will, as she left $300,000 to a New York group involved in helping gay homeless youth.
The group, named Ali Fornay Center offer services for more than 1,000 persons each year, is now planning to purchase a building big enough to accommodate 12 people, and name it in the honor of the actress who died in April this year.
The leader of the center is extremely happy with Bea Arthur’s generosity, declaring that “We are overwhelmed with gratitude… and that she placed so much value in the work we do”.
The center is providing emergency shelter and housing in New York, also operating to drop-in centers providing food, clothing, various medical treatments and educational assistance.
That was a good thing she did.
