Katie Cassidy Biography, Filmography, Pictures Katherine Evelyn Anita “Katie” Cassidy-Benedon (born on November 25, 1986) is an American actress and singer, mostly known for her appearances in Supernatural, Harper’s Island, Melrose Place, Black Christmas or Taken.

Cassidy was born in Los Angeles, California as the daughter of pop star David Cassidy and former fashion model Sherry Benedon, growing up in Calabasas, California.

In her childhood, she took gymnastics, studied piano and guitar, taking dancing and acting lessons and in the end she became cheerleader for the California Flyers. Cassidy studied at the Calabasas High School, graduating in 2005 after she cheered for them as a freshman.

Show business gained Cassidy’s attention while she was in elementary school, taking part in community theatre and doing some modeling, including for Abercrombie and Fitch in 2004. She also sang in VH1’s TV special Bubblegum Babylon in 2002. Sherry, her mother, prevented her from professional acting till Cassidy graduated from high school. Following graduation, she moved to Los Angeles appearing in several TV series, such as 7th Heaven and Sex, Love & Secrets, having a small role in the music video of Eminem, Just Lose It in 2004.
