Golden Girls Rue McClanahan Faces Heart Troubles

Former Golden Girls’ Rue McClanahan is recovering following an emergency heart bypass. A few days earlier her doctor noticed a problem while doing a routine medical examination.
The actress, 75, was already hospitalized earlier this month, after a doctor spotting some heart problem, when she was having tests for a due knee operation.
McClanahan apologized to fans for being forced to withdraw from Golden: A Gala Tribute to Rue McClanahan at the Castro Theatre in San Francisco on November 14.
Although initially it was said that she needed “maintenance on the old ticker”, McClanahan undergo a serious heart bypass surgery Wednesday.
Nevertheless, her friend Del Shores stated that “She’s going to be great and up and entertaining us all very shortly”.
