Cindy Crawford and her husband Rande Gerber were subject to a $100,000 extortion plan. Based on the court papers filed Thursday by the FBI and the US attorney’s office the extortion plan regards a photograph of their daughter, age 7, allegedly taken by the family’s ex-nanny.
According to the filed documents, the photo pictures the child “in revealing clothing, bound to a chair and gagged,”. A sworn statement in the case reveals that the child told Gerger that her nanny took the photo as part of a game, without the knowledge of Crawford.
It is said that a friend of the nanny tried to sell the photo, demanding $100,000 in exchange of not releasing the photo to the media. He has been charged with extortion, while the nanny – whose name was not made public – has not been charged of anything.
Crawford and Gerber are married since 1998 and have a daughter and a son.
