British actor Sir Ian McKellen swore to fight on supporting gay marriage in the United States – recommending campaigners not to give up on the cause.
Gay marriages were legalized in the US firstly in California last year, but it was ruled illegal by state legislation Proposition 8, just six month after they were validated.
This back off of the authorities angered the gay community and McKellen continues the fight to enable all citizens to be entitled to the same basic rights.
Los Angeles radio station IMRU Radio quoted McKellen as “We’re discovering who the enemy are, and I do think we do have an enemy. It means that everyone’s got to go on fighting. . And in what way you fight, well, it depends who you are. You can write a letter, you can talk about it to your congressperson, you can talk to people in bars. Or you can go on marches, or you can go and break windows.”
