Bonnie Hunt Biography, Filmography, Pictures Bonnie Lynne Hunt (born on September 22, 1964) is an American actress, comedienne, director, television producer and daytime television host.

Hunt was born in Chicago, Illinois and was educated in catholic schools, attending St. Ferdinand Grammar School and Notre Dame High School for Girls in Chicago. In 1982, she worked as a nurse at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. In 1984,she co-founded an improvisational comedy troupe with Holly Wortell, Andy Miller and John Gripentrog.

Hunt declined the offer to become a cast member of Saturday Night Live and in 1992 she refused a higher-paying role on Designing Women.

In 1993, Hunt joined David Letterman to produce a short-lived sitcom The Building. They re-joined in 1995 with The Bonnie Hunt Show featuring many of the cast members of The Building and similar loose style. Although the show was praised by critics, it was canceled after 11 episodes were aired. She returned to television in 2002, with Life with Bonnie and her role in the show earned Hunt in 2004 her first Emmy nomination. The show was cancelled in its second season despite its fair success.

Hunt wrote, directed and co-starred in the romantic comedy Return to Me (2000) featuring David Duchovny and Minnie Driver. Hunt starred in the popular film Beethoven and Beethoven’s 2nd, also playing in Cheaper by the Dozen and in Jumanji. Hunt appeared in the movie Jerry Maguire and in the film version of the Stephen King novel “The Green Mile”.

Bonnie Hunt has never done a nude scene, and never posed nude in her career. Hunt is currently involved in writing the sequel for the film Mrs. Doubtfire (1993).

Hunt married banker John Murphy in 1988. In June 2006, on The Late Show with David Letterman she stated that she was single again. Hunt is a supporter of the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation and an honorary board member.

The Bonnie Hunt Show was premiered on September 8, 2008 receiving high praise. In the show the host and the guests are often interacting with the audience, having an opening monologue, guest interviews and audience participation games. In its first year, The Bonnie Hunt Show was nominated for three Daytime Emmy Awards in the opening theme, hairstyle and makeup categories. The show returned in September of 2009.
