Wesley Snipes has appealed his prison sentence on US federal tax charges, stating the term as being “unreasonable”.
He was convicted in 2008 for willful failure to file his income tax return. Prosecutors said that Snipes made at least $13.8 million for the given years and failed to pay $2.7 million in back taxes.
Snipes excused, saying that he was “unschooled in the science of law and finance”.
On Friday – 20 November 2009 – in Georgia Court of Appeal his lawyer stated that the prosecutors that they want to set an example with the actor. Snipes is still free on bail and was absent from the Atlanta courthouse.
