A set of dresses and various wardrobe items worn by film star Audrey Hepburn is on show in Paris next week at a charity auction at Sotheby’s in London.
A black silk Givenchy dress – worn in the hit of 1962 ‘Paris When it Sizzles’ is just one of the items for sale at the December 8 action that is most likely to raise over 110,000 euros (about $164,000) according to Sotheby’s.
Hats, belts and numerous Chanel handbags will be on sale, also letters written by the late British star while filming ‘Roman Holiday’ in 1953 with Gregory Peck. 50 percent of the proceeds from the sale are set to go to the Audrey Hepburn Children’s Fund.
At the previous auctions Hepburn’s dresses have obtained high prices, for instance a pink cocktail dress of her was sold for $192,000 in New York in 2007.
