The famous action star is now the law on A&E channel’s Steven Seagal Lawman.
Seagal has served as an unpaid reserve deputy in a Louisiana Sheriff’s Office since the mid-‘80s. He agreed to have his sheriff’s activity documented to highlight the troubles of New Orleans after Katrina and to support local police.
Seagal is a deputy and spends several months a year in Louisiana, working most of the time in five-day shifts, while on the force.
This time Lawman illustrates Seagal’s marksmanship.
Seagal declares that he likes night patrols, riding shotgun in squad cars: “I love getting out on the streets and helping people.” Even if in his film career we see him as a really tough guy, Seagal says that in the real life police work require more diplomacy that muscle, “You try to be a friend instead of an enforcer.”
