Samuel Pack “Sam” Elliott (born on August 9, 1944) is an American actor, seen as the classic picture of the American cowboy. He is well-known in numerous films by his characters of long-legged stature, thick mustache and characteristically deep commanding voice.
Elliott was born in Sacramento, California and moved to Oregon along with his family while was a teenager. He attended David Douglas High School in Portland and later on Clark College in Vancouver, Washington completing a two-year program. While ate college he got the leading role in Guys and Dolls. Elliott was suggested to become a professional actor and shortly after he got addicted to acting and said that he is heading to Hollywood to become a star. While Elliott was studying acting in Los Angeles, he worked in construction. For a short period of time, he resided in Princeton, West Virginia.
Elliott started his acting career as a character actor, his look and behavior made him perfect for Western films.
