Alaina Reed Hall, who starred as Olivia on ‘Sesame Street’ for over a decade, and as Rose Holloway on the sitcom ‘227’, died on December 17 in Los Angeles after battling with breast cancer, at the age of 63.
Starting from 1976 and until the late 1980s, she played photographer Olivia on PBS show for children. In 2004 she recalled, “It dawned on me. I have a big responsibility. I was in their house every day”.
In 1985, Hall was cast in the sitcom ‘227’ as Rose. She also guest starred in several shows, including ‘Blossom’ or in the sitcom ‘Cleghorne’. She also appeared in films, such as ‘Death Becomes Her’ and ‘Cruel Intentions’.
Hall was also a singer, releasing in 1971 a single, “Bad for My Head” on Capitol Records and in her early career held the lead in the Chicago production of the musical “Hair”.
