Kim Kardashian is sued by Dr. Siegel’s Cookie Diet Company. According to a legal paper filed on December 29, the company is asking for damages against Kardashian stating she misleadingly called their product “unhealthy” on her Twitter page.
She is also accused that her statement on Twitter has “commercial motive”, as Kardashian is a spokesperson for a competitor weight loss program QuickTrim.
Before the Twitter lawsuit, Kardashian issued a cease and desist letter to the company for wrongly claiming that she was supporting their brand. The company’s CEO Matthew Siegal said Radar Online, “We felt betrayed by the leaking of this letter and my father Dr Siegal, who invented the product 35 years ago, was personally offended by her claims. My message to Kim Kardashian is that we have no animosity against her personally but that she should act more responsibly and not say false statements about our brand while endorsing another one at the same time.”
Kardashian previously admitted to have earned $10,000 from advertisers for a message on Twitter promoting their products to her more than two million Twitter followers.
