The CW has selected two pilots, an update of the thriller “La Femme Nikita” (1990) and a family drama, bringing back the “Gilmore Girls” producers to the network.
The French film “Nikita” was produced by Luc Besson in 1990, being remade as an American film in 1993, with the title “Point of No Return” featuring Bridget Fonda. Later on, the story of the film was launched in 1997 as a TV series on USA Network.
In the CW adaptation, Nikita goes rogue and a new killer is trained replacing her.
McG is the executive producer of the “Nikita” remake, together with Craig Silverstein and Peter Johnson. The remake is from Warner Bros. and Wonderland Prods.
In the same time, the CW is requesting a family drama set on a horse farm in Wyoming that brings back producers Amy Sherman Palladino and Dan Palladino of “Gilmore Girls”. This project is from Warner Bros. and CBS TV Studio.
