Wearing an alcohol-monitoring anklet doesn’t mean Lindsay Lohan that it will prevent her to tipple.
According to a source, Lohan, 23, who wore one such device in 2007, has stated she “put tea tree oil on to fool it.”
Shirley Bennett from Pasadena Recovery Center says, “Addicts will use anything with alcohol to set it off, so they can say, ‘Oh, I wasn’t drinking. It’s my perfume!’”
A different strategy used by Lohan is a paperclip used to jam the signal. Both attempts of fooling the anklet were denied by the actress to UsMagazine.com.
However, Los Angeles criminal defense attorney Decio Rangel Jr. says, “She could go to jail” if caught.
Lohan was sentenced Monday by a judge to wear a bracelet and go through once-a-week random drug tests until her next court hearing – set to July 6 – to establish if she violated her probation.
