At the beginning of the movie we are taken to a scene from the original film. We can see how Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte, and Miranda meet for the very first time.
In the next scene we jump to the present where a same-sex wedding between Stanford Blatch and Anthony Marentino is in progress. Now the girl’s lives are a lot more stressful than they were in the first movie. All of them are married except for Samantha, Charlotte is preoccupied with her two kids and Carrie’s life with Mr. Big has become somewhat boring for her taste, because he prefers to sit at home, watch old movies and eat fast food to going out with her.
