As filming is scheduled to start at the end of June, Weinstein’s Dimension Films is desperately putting its Scream 4 cast together. Upstart Emma Roberts is set to join Courtney Cox, Neve Campbell and David Aequette. Insiders tell EW that Roberts is going to play Jill, one of the films main heroines. The film is going back to Woodsboro, the home of Sidney Prescott (Campbell) with Roberts playing a similar role to Campbell’s in the original.

Roberts, mostly known for playing ‘Nancy Drew’ and ‘Hotel for Dogs’, said, “I’m so excited to be part of this ground-breaking franchise. It’s the perfect opportunity for me to do something completely different than I’ve ever done before.”

Director and producer Wes Craven said, “Emma’s talent, beauty, and range will add immensely to the sophistication, intensity, and fun of the Scream franchise as it returns to the screen once more.”

The previous three Scream movies made almost $300 million domestically. This latest sequel will shoot in and in the vicinity of Ann Arbor, Michigan starting June 28.
