Sandra Bullock to Appear at MTV Movie AwardsEver since the start of her marriage crisis, Sandra Bullock stayed out of the public eye, while raising her newly adopted son, Louis, but this is going to dramatically change next month.

Wednesday Bullock was designated the recipient of the MTV Generation Award “for her riveting and diverse contributions to the film industry.” Her presence on June 6 at the MTV Awards in Universal City, California was confirmed by her reps. However, despite her attendance she will not be doing any interviews at the award ceremony.

The actress, 45, joins such celebrities as Tom Cruise, Spike Lee, Jim Carrey, Adam Sandler and Mike Myers who will also receive the award.

Cruise and Cameron Diaz, Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Zac Efron, Chris Rock and Jessica Biel are among the presenters, while Christina Aguilera and Katy Perry are going to perform.

Art Linkletter Dies at 97

Art Linkletter (July 17, 1912 – May 26, 2010), a television innovator who made people laugh by getting kids say the darndest things, died aged 97.

He died (26 May, 2010) at his home in Los Angeles.

His simple approach and ability to sweet-talk children and average people to say funny things was an innovation on radio and afterwards on television in the 50s and 60s.

“Art Linkletter’s Houseparty” started out on radio in 1944 and continued on CBS-TV in 1952, where it remaining until it was canceled in 1969 and was famous for his interviews with school-kids.

In 1997, when CBS aired a “Kids Say the Darndest Things” special, Linkletter told the Daily News, “I could talk right to them, not down or not up. And remember, these were just kids picked by their own teachers. Of course, I did ask the teachers, as a favor to me, to pick the children they’d like most to have out of the class for a few hours. I wanted the rascals.”

He also gathered and published quotes from kids into best-selling books.

Linkletter hosted the audience participation show “People Are Funny” , first on radio and then from 1954 to 1961 on NBC-TV.

He was born Arthur Gordon Kelly in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan and married Lois Foerster in 1935 and had five children together. Linkletter was also good friend with Walt Disney.
