The Naked Cowboy says a vulgar, bikini-clad female, who calls herself “The Naked Cowgirl” is ripping off his shtick and he is threatening to drag her into court for as much as $150,000.
The cowboy, on his real name Robert Burck sent a cease-and-desist letter to his foil, Sandy Kane, reading, “Your use of Naked Cowgirl is essentially identical to the Naked Cowboy and is clearly in violation.”
Burck is demanding that Kane either stop making money off his trademark or sign a “Naked Cowboy Franchise Agreement.”
Although, most licensed franchisees have to pay more than $5,000 for a year or $500 a month, Burck’s manager Todd Rubenstein said they are willing to make an individual deal with Kane.
However, Kane, on her real name Sandra Brodsky claims she sees no reason why to pay Burck a cent.
“I’ve been naked for years,” said Kane, “You know how much money I make? Two dollars a picture. I’m not selling any products.”
