Sylvester Stallone will be replaced by New Zealander Karl Urban in the future Judge Dredd reboot.
The comic boot anti-hero is set to return for a sequel 13 years after Stallone’s initial 1995 movie, with a script penned down by Alex Garland.
According to Bleedingcool.com the role of Judge Dredd has been offered to Karl Urban, famous for his role as doctor Bones in 2009’s ‘Star Trek’.
Urban, 38, will not remove his helmet and the movie will be shot in the 3-D.
Filming is expected to star later this year with a late 2011, or early 2012 release.

John Gavin Malkovich (born on December 9, 1953) is an American actor, director and producer, who appeared in numerous films, including Places in the Heart, In the Line of Fire, Empire of the Sun, The Killing Fields, Being John Malkovich, Dangerous Liaisons and Changeling.
He was born in Christopher, Illinois and grew up in Benton Illinois. He attended a Catholic school and after graduation he entered Eastern Illinois University and then transferred to Illinois State University.
In 1976, he, along with Joan Allen, Gary Sinise and Glenne Headly became a member of the Steppenwolf Theatre Company in Chicago. In 1980 he appeared in the play True West, his performance earning him an Obie Award. He next directed the 1984 revival of Balm in Gilead, for which he won a second Obie and a Drama Desk Award. In the dame year, he debuted on Broadway in Death of a Salesman, opposite Dustin Hoffman.
