Leighton Marissa Meester (born on April 9, 1986) is an American actress, fashion model, singer and songwriter, mostly known as Blair Waldorf in the television series Gossip Girl.
She was born in Forth Worth, Texas and grew up in Marco Island, Florida. She moved to New York with her mother when she was 11 and attended the Professional Children’s School and also started working as a model with Wilhemina. She debuted on television on an episode of Law & Order. When she was 14, she moved to Los Angeles, California where she attended Hollywood High School and Beverly Hills High School.
Following her television debut on Law & Order, she had guest appearances in two other series before appearing in the movie Hangman’s Curse. She began to get guest roles in such television series as Crossing Jordan, Veronica Mars with Kristen Bell, 7th Heaven, 24, and Entourage.
