Glenn Shadix (April 15, 1952 – September 7, 2010), a Hollywood character actor mostly known for his role as Otho in the horror/comedy Beetlejuice died Wednesday, September 7, 2010, following a fall at his condo. He was 58.
He was born in Bessemer, Alabama and lived in New York City, before he moved to Hollywood in the 1970s. He got his breakout role as Otho in Beetlejuice (1988)and also appeared in another two film for the writer/director Burton, The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993) and the remake of Planet of the Apes (2001).
During his career, he appeared in over 70 films and television shows, including Carnivale, Seinfeld, or Hercules: The Legendary Journeys.
He retired from Hollywood in 2007 and returned to his hometown Bessemer, Alabama and had been living in a condo on Highland Avenue after his home burned December 13, 2008.
