Machete is a 2010 action film, spreading out a fake trailer released along with the 2007 Grindhouse.

The story focuses on an immigrant, Machete Cortez (Danny Trejo), a former Mexicab Federale who became a renegade. Following a shakedown with a drug lord (Steven Seagal), Machete goes to Texas to do yard work for money. Michael Booth (Jeff Fahey) a businessman and spin doctor reveals to Machete that Senator McLaughlin (Robert De Niro)is smuggling illegals out of the country. In an effort to put an end to it, Booth offers Machete $150,000 to kill McLaughlin. Machete agrees and accepts the murder contract. As he tries to kill McLaughlin during a rally, he is betrayed and shot by one of Booth’s henchmen. An entire plan is disclosed, as Booth organized the attempted assassination as part of a fake operation in order to gain a substantial public support for McLaughlin’s hard anti-illegal-immigration laws. By hiring Machete as the assassin, Booth makes it seem that a fugitive illegal Mexican immigrant tried to kill the senator.
