John Carradine (February 5, 1906 – November 27, 1988) was an American actor, famous for his horror and western film roles.
He was born in Greenwich Village, New York City, grew up in Peekskill and Kingston, New York and attended Christ Church School in Kingston and the Episcopal Academy in Merion, Pennsylvania. He also studied sculpture at Graphic Arts Institute, Philadelphia.
He debuted on stage in 1925, in a New Orleans production of Camille. He started working for Cecil B. DeMille as a set designer, until DeMille hired him to do voice-overs. He later became member of John Ford’s company and appeared in The Prisoner of Shark Island. He appeared in several Ford films, including The Grapes of Wrath (1940), The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance (1962) and Stagecoach (1939), both starring John Wayne.
In the 1940s, he toured with his Shakespearean company, playing the roles of Hamlet and Macbeth.

A number of previous Jigsaw traps survivors, among them Dr. Gordon, participate to a session of self-help guru Bobby Dagen, who is also a Jigsaw survivor. At least he claims to be. He is being kidnapped and in order to save his wife and other people from death he must prevail over some challenges. He is watched by his wife through a television screen, who is wearing a collar attached to the floor. In time, she is gradually dragged closer and closer to the floor.
First, he has to try to save is his publicist -who is blocked in a circular trap- by pulling out the key attached to a string dangling from her mouth down her throat to her stomach. Eventually Dagen fails and she dies. He next meets his lawyer, who is also trapped, but Dagen fails again in saving her and she dies. Next, he encounters a close friend of his, but he can’t save her either.
