Journalist Katie Couric is said to have started negations with the Glee producers to join the long list of celebrities making guest appearances on the show. Among the guest stars of Glee have been Britney Spears, Gwyneth Paltrow, Carol Burnett, Molly Shannon, and Neil Patrick Harris.

If FOX and Couric’s people are successful, the CBS Nightly News host might find herself wandering the halls of McKinley on Super Bowl Sunday special, airing Feb. 6. It was said Katie is to appear as herself in a brief cameo with cheer-leading coach Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch). The program is said to be one of the most expensive television episodes ever. Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” will also be featured in the performance.
A few weeks ago Couric criticized Glee stars Dianna Agron, Lea Michele, and Cory Monteith for their controversial photo shoot in the November issue of GQ Magazine.
