What was the marketing team at “Vampire Diaries” thinking when they came up with the campaign “Catch VD?”

If you saw a billboard in Hollywood saying catch VD would you be thinking about “Vampire Diaries” or Venereal Diseases? This isn’t the first time The CW’s marketing department has pushed the envelope.

A spokesperson for CW had this to say.

“VD simply stands for Vampire Diaries, and anyone who thinks otherwise should probably get themselves checked out.”

One thing I gotta give the marketing team credit, people are talking about it. What do you think?

The Green Hornet (2011) Britt Reid (Seth Rogen), the son of James Reid (Tom Wilkinson) publisher of the newspaper The Daily Sentinel, is a playboy, but who changes after James dies. He fires the staff, keeping only the maid and Kato (Jay Chou), who is a martial artist and a mechanic. Britt and Reid decide that they become crime-fighters disguised as criminals to infiltrate real criminals.

Kato makes a supercar loaded with weapons and gadgets, and they call it the Black Beauty. Britt wants to capture Russian mobster Benjamin Chudnofsky (Christoph Waltz). Britt’s father was also trying to expose this mobster. In order to get Chudnofsky’s attention, Britt publishes articles in the Daily Sentinel about the criminal the Green Hornet. He hires Lenore Case (Cameron Diaz) as a researcher and his assistant, who helps him to raise the profile of the Green Hornet.
