His fame started with starring roles in such films as One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, Easy Rider or The Shinning. He continued to have notable performances in the second half of his life with Academy Award winning roles in such films as The Departed and Something’s Gotta Give. The actor, 74, has now decided to sell his 70-acre estate in Malibu, California.
Nicholson has put his two-home property onto the real estate market just a week ago and he is asking $4.25 million for it. His private Malibu estate features a ranch-style main house, a distinct home for the caretaker, swimming pool, grotto-style spa, putting green and lighted tennis court. Built in 1966, the expansive main house includes 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, maid’s quarters, splendid ocean and mountain views and a large living space of 2,300 square feet.
Nicholson also owns a two-bedroom home in Los Angeles (Cahuenga Pass), a five-bedroom retreat in Kailua, Hi, three estates in Aspen, CO and a 4-lot compound in Beverly Hills.
