Dennis William Quaid (born on April 9, 1954) is an American actor, who rose to fame after appearing in several films during the 1980s. These successful films include Jaws3-D (1983), Dreamscape (1984), The Big Easy (1987) and Innerspace (1987).

He was born in Houston, Texas and attended Bellaire High School in Bellaire, Texas and the University of Houston but he quit before graduation and moved to Los Angeles for a career in acting.

At first, he had difficulties in finding jobs but he became noted after appearing in Breaking Away (1979) and in The Right Stuff (1983). He started to have starring roles, including in Enemy Mine (1985) and Innerspace (1987). He was critically acclaimed for his role in Great Balls of Fire (1989). His career started to fade in the early 1990s after fighting cocaine addiction and anorexia nervosa.

Jack Nicholson is second best after Katherine Hepburn for most Oscar Award wins, he is the most nominated actor in the history of Academy Awards with a total 12 nominations. His fame started with starring roles in such films as One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, Easy Rider or The Shinning. He continued to have notable performances in the second half of his life with Academy Award winning roles in such films as The Departed and Something’s Gotta Give. The actor, 74, has now decided to sell his 70-acre estate in Malibu, California.

Nicholson has put his two-home property onto the real estate market just a week ago and he is asking $4.25 million for it. His private Malibu estate features a ranch-style main house, a distinct home for the caretaker, swimming pool, grotto-style spa, putting green and lighted tennis court. Built in 1966, the expansive main house includes 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, maid’s quarters, splendid ocean and mountain views and a large living space of 2,300 square feet.

Nicholson also owns a two-bedroom home in Los Angeles (Cahuenga Pass), a five-bedroom retreat in Kailua, Hi, three estates in Aspen, CO and a 4-lot compound in Beverly Hills.
