Just in case you haven’t heard, the case surrounding Natalie Wood’s demise has been reopened, in hopes of casting new light on what might have came about the fateful night the actress drowned.
It appears that Captn. Davern is laying the fault on Wood’s then husband Robert Wagner, claiming that the actor was drunk and fighting with Christopher Walken at the time of Natalie’s death. In a new interview, Captn. Davern remembers the Wagner breaking a bottle of wine in a fit of anger and shouting at Walken “Do you want to f*ck my wife” in the moments before Natalie “fell.”
Davern claimed Wagner was”sweaty, flushed, anxious, nervous, and disheveled.”
“He (Wagner) told me ‘Natalie is missing’ and asked me to search the yacht.”
“He led me through the stateroom which was a mess…it had been spotless when I passed through it after securing the dinghy a half-hour earlier.”
Walken was asleep in the cabin where he retreated to after the “f*ck my wife” slur, Davern said.
Christopher Walken has hired a former federal prosecutor to help defend him should the need arise.
Robert Wagner has issued the following statement about the new investigation:
“Although no one in the Wagner family has heard from the LA County Sheriff’s department about this matter, they fully support the efforts of the LA County Sheriff’s Dept. and trust they will evaluate whether any new information relating to the death of Natalie Wood Wagner is valid, and that it comes from a credible source or sources other than those simply trying to profit from the 30 year anniversary of her tragic death.”
