Morgan Porterfield Freeman, Jr. (born on June 1, 1937) is an American actor and film director, known for his reserved appearance and commanding speaking voice.

Freeman was nominated several times for Academy Award, before winning one in 2005 for his performance in the Million Dollar Baby. He has also received a Golden Globe Award and a Screen Actors Award.

Freeman starred in numerous successful films, such as Glory, Unforgiven, Seven, The Sum of All Fears, Deep Impact, Batman Begins, Bruce Almighty, Evan Almighty, The Bucket Lists, Wanted or The Dark Knight.

He was born in Memphis, Tennessee and was sent as a child to his grandmother in Charleston, Mississippi. Freeman started acting at age nine, when he got the lead role in a school play. He attended Broad Street High School in Mississippi and graduated from in 1955. He said no to a partial drama scholarship from Jackson State University and has chosen to work in the US Air Force as a mechanic.

In the early 1960s, Freeman moved to Los Angeles and worked as a transcript clerk. He also lived in New York City and worked as a dancer at the 1964 World’s Fair. His off-Broadway debut came in 1967 in The Nigger Lovers, while a year later debuted on Broadway in the all black version of Hello, Dolly!

Freeman initially becomes recognized in the media through his performances in the soap opera Another World and in The Electric Company. From the mid 1980s, he started to be cast in major supporting roles in several features films, establishing him a reputation of representing wise and paternal characters. In 1994, he played Red, the convict in the critically acclaimed The Shawshank Redemption. Freeman also played in film such as Unforgiven, Robin Hood: Prince of the Thieves, Seven or Deep Impact. In 1997, he founded with Lori McCreary the movie production company Revelations Entertainment.

Carey Hannah Mulligan (born on 28 May 1985) is an English film, TV and theatre actress. She debuted as an actress in Pride & Prejudice in 2005. She next had television roles in Charles Dickens adaptation Bleak House (2005) and a year later she appeared in The Amazing Mrs. Pritchard.

Mulligan was nominated for a Golden Globe Award in the Best Actress category for her performance in An Education (2009). Currently she is scheduled to star in five films; all of them are now in pre-production.

She was born in Westminster, London, England and has on older brother, Owain. Mulligan moved to Germany with her family at the age of three, because of her father’s work. In her childhood, Mulligan attended International School of Düsseldorf, while for high school the Woldingham School, Surrey.

Mulligan became interested in acting after seeing her brother act in a school production, when she had fourteen. Her mother would often take her to Broadway plays in New York, that is how she became interested in theatre and later on accepted a role in the Broadway production The Seagull.

She started acting in 2004, at the age of eighteen with a role in Pride & Prejudice (2005). In the same year, she appeared in the adaptation of Charkes Dickens Bleak House (2005). In 2006, Mulligan appeared in the TV series The Amazing Mrs Pritchard, guest-starred on The Sittaford Mystery, and on Marple. In 2007, she starred in the film And When Did You Last See Your Father?, and in the television dramas My Boy Jack, and Northanger Abbey. Her guest appearance in an episode of Doctor Who, earned her a Constellation Award in the Best Female Performance category in a 2007 Science Fiction Television Episode. In 2007, her performance in the 2007 revival of The Seagull was praised by critics. Mulligan was nominated for her debut Broadway performance for a Drama Desk Award.

In 2009, Mulligan co-starred in Public Enemies with Johnny Depp and Christina Bale. In the same year, she appeared in The Greatest starring alongside Pierce Brosnan and Susan Sarandon. Also in 2009, she had her most notable role in her career, the lead role of Jenny in An Education. Although, the film was positively reviewed by critics, the film made modest box office revenue, making just $8.2 million. For her role, she received Golden Globe, Screen Actor Guide and Critics Choice Awards nominations.
