Simon Cowell has confirmed rumors that Britney will appear on his UK talent show X Factor. Britney is set to perform songs from her upcoming album at the end of the month. Simon said “I’m really excited about it, because she has got her act together and the new record is terrific. She has come back from a very dark place and is a terrific artist.”

Tori Spelling just needs to sell her old house in Westwood, which she just listed at $2,395,000.

Harriet Cameron of Prudential California Realty, Sherman Oaks, and her partner, Judy Cycon of Prudential’s Beverly Hills office, had the listing.

The 3,300 square foot home has five bedrooms and 3 1/2 bathrooms. Russell Crowe is to play the Sheriff of Nottingham in Ridley Scott’s upcoming interpretation of Robin Hood  but now he’s playing Robin Hood… also.

“‘Nottingham’ is the ‘Gladiator’ version of Robin Hood,” super-producer Brian Grazer told MTV News about the upcoming twisted tale from the “American Gangster” tag team. “I think it will have the same propulsion that ‘Gladiator’ had - the same adrenaline hits.”

Told from the Sheriff’s point of view, the new movie centers around a familiar - yet very different - set of characters, director Ridley Scott said, revealing that his story begins when a legend first walks into history.

The Sheriff, then, strives to do right while caught in the middle of two wrongs – on one side a corrupt and unpopular King who orders him to arrest outlaws, on the other the outlaw himself who threatens to rouse the public in popular anarchy.

“[Caught between] the minority of haves and the majority of have nots,” Scott said.

Crowe shared his side of story, saying that the movie is “one of those things where we’re taking our time with. You don’t want to be doing Robin Hood unless you’re going to be doing it really f*cking well. It’s got to be the best one ever done otherwise you should do something else.”

Although other details are kept for efficiency, Scott said that the dual roles would be “a good old clever adjustment of characters. One becomes the other. It changes.”

Sean Penn was so excited he had experienced his first same-sex kiss with MILK co-star James Franco - he immediately texted gay icon Madonna to boast.

Penn stars alongside Franco in the forthcoming biopic of San Francisco’s first gay Mayor Harvey Milk, in which the pair play lovers.
And after wrapping their first gay smooch scene, Penn wanted to tell his ex-wife Madonna about his risque antics.

Heather Locklear, 47, was arrested Saturday night in Santa Barbara.

The California Highway Patrol found Locklear’s car parked on a state highway and blocking a lane.  Law enforcement officers say alcohol was not involved.

Locklear was booked on suspicion of driving under the influence of prescription medication.  It has only been just two months after leaving an Arizona rehab center while battling anxiety and depression.

She was later released without having to post bail.

The mug shot is definitely not her most flattering look!

Looks like Johnny Depp, 45, fans will be seeing him in tons.

It appears the gazillion dollars the first three Pirates of the Caribbean movies raked in weren’t good enough for Walt Disney. Franchise star Johnny Depp will reprise his role as Captain Jack Sparrow for a fourth installment of the franchise, according to Movieweb.com.

Disney also announced Depp will play iconic sidekick Tonto in Jerry Bruckheimer’s big screen take on “The Lone Ranger” as well as The Mad Hatter in Tim Burton’s forthcoming “Alice in Wonderland” remake.

The announcements came Wednesday during a Disney Studio Showcase at the Kodak Theater in Los Angeles. Depp appeared in full Sparrow regalia, while wearing a black mask in a nod to his Lone Ranger role.

I always thought of Depp as the kind who has some shred of integrity when it comes to choosing roles. We all know the “Pirates” flicks paid him a ton of money, but films like “Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street” showed there was still more to him than mumbling like Keith Richards for two hours.

Hugh Hefner wants Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin to pose naked in Playboy magazine - if her White House campaign fails.

The 44-year-old Alaska Governor and former beauty queen has a huge male following - and Hefner is convinced the magazine would fly off the shelves if she agreed to strip for him.

Hefner tells America’s OK! magazine, “Palin would make a great centerfold. I don’t know what it is, but there’s something about a really sexy-looking woman wearing glasses. Imagine what she’s like when those glasses come off. It would be a new definition of the word vice in vice president.”

PETA has done it  again by sending a letter off to Ben and Jerry’s ice cream company asking them to if they would consider to use human breast milk in their ice cream in place of milk from a cow. Huh.

Dear Mr. Cohen and Mr. Greenfield,

On behalf of PETA and our more than 2 million members and supporters, I’d like to bring your attention to an innovative new idea from Switzerland that would bring a unique twist to Ben and Jerry’s. Storchen restaurant is set to unveil a menu that includes soups, stews, and sauces made with at least 75 percent breast milk procured from human donors who are paid in exchange for their milk. If Ben and Jerry’s replaced the cow’s milk in its ice cream with breast milk, your customers–and cows–would reap the benefits.

Using cow’s milk for your ice cream is a hazard to your customer’s health. Dairy products have been linked to juvenile diabetes, allergies, constipation, obesity, and prostate and ovarian cancer. The late Dr. Benjamin Spock, America’s leading authority on child care, spoke out against feeding cow’s milk to children, saying it may play a role in anemia, allergies, and juvenile diabetes and in the long term, will set kids up for obesity and heart disease–America’s number one cause of death.

Animals will also benefit from the switch to breast milk. Like all mammals, cows only produce milk during and after pregnancy, so to be able to constantly milk them, cows are forcefully impregnated every nine months. After several years of living in filthy conditions and being forced to produce 10 times more milk than they would naturally, their exhausted bodies are turned into hamburgers or ground up for soup.

And of course, the veal industry could not survive without the dairy industry. Because male calves can’t produce milk, dairy farmers take them from their mothers immediately after birth and sell them to veal farms, where they endure 14 to17 weeks of torment chained inside a crate so small that they can’t even turn around.

The breast is best! Won’t you give cows and their babies a break and our health a boost by switching from cow’s milk to breast milk in Ben and Jerry’s ice cream? Thank you for your consideration.
