Simon Cowell has confirmed rumors that Britney will appear on his UK talent show X Factor. Britney is set to perform songs from her upcoming album at the end of the month. Simon said “I’m really excited about it, because she has got her act together and the new record is terrific. She has come back from a very dark place and is a terrific artist.”

Celine Dion has added the title of doctor to her resume, after receiving an honorary degree from a Canadian university.

The singer was bestowed the doctorate from the University Laval on Thursday in acknowledgment of her personal and professional achievements.

Speaking at the award ceremony at the Palais Montcalm, she told the 800 people present the diploma is “a very great honor for a little girl from Charlemagne”.

The singer, who never finished high school, urged students to pursue further education, but noted that “the school of life is also very important”.

She added: “If there is something that has guided my life, it’s my wish to excel and go farther, to the maximum of my abilities, to the top of my goals, my hopes and my dreams.”

Hollywood star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has found love again, just three months after divorcing his wife of 11 years.

The wrestler-turned-action movie star, who finalized his split from wife Dany in May (08), was photographed cuddling and holding hands with Lauren Hashian on a Hawaiian beach last week (04Aug08).

The couple met two years ago while co-stars on 2007 movie The Game Plan.

Hashian is the daughter of former Boston drummer Sib Hashian.

It is about time? Lindsey Lohan has finally come out of the closet.  It is said that Lohan and Sam Ronson the part time DJ are getting married.

LAPD Chief William Bratton was commenting on the proposal for Los Angeles officials to enact more restrictions on paparazzi activity. Bratton said:

“Since Britney Spears started wearing clothes and behaving, Paris Hilton is out of town and not bothering anyone anymore, thank God, and ah, evidently ah, Lindsay Lohan has gone gay … ah we don’t seem to have much of an issue. If the ones that attract the paparazzi would behave in the first place, like we expect of anybody, that solves about 90% of the problem. The rest of it we can deal with.”

A paparazzi asked Samantha Ronson how she felt about the police chief outing her? Lindsay Lohan responded:

Well I don’t condone affairs. In no way do I think that having an affair is a noble, honorable, nice thing to do. Sarah Jessica Parker attended Tuesday night’s All-Star game, and hit the field beforehand for an announcement about cancer research. Parker has long had a trademark mole on her chin, which has been visible throughout her career.

But at the game, as seen in an unairbrushed AP photo, no mole. At least one of the remarkably cruel reviews of “Sex and the City: The Movie” commented on her beauty mark. The New York Observer’s Rex Reed began his review with the following:

There’s nothing wrong with Sarah Jessica Parker that couldn’t be cured by wart-removal surgery. That growth on her face just gets bigger with every close-up, and in the full-length movie version of Sex and the City it’s so distracting you can’t concentrate on anything else. It’s not a beauty mark. I guess you can’t tell a co-producer anything, but listen up, girl. At this point, you would make a wonderful Halloween witch.

No word - if indeed she has had the mole removed, if it was for medical of cosmetic reasons.

“At 0113 hours, Murrieta Police responded to call at Buffalo Wild Wings, 40484 Murrieta Hot Springs Rd., Murrieta to investigate an intoxicated male at the location urinating outside the bar and causing a disturbance. Officers arrived and stopped a truck which was leaving the location. Witnesses told the officers one of the truck occupants had sexually battered a 17 year old outside the restaurant and bar.

The 17 yr old female victim and several witnesses told police that as Andy Dick left the establishment, he approached two females outside the bar. Dick walked up to the 17 year old female victim, grabbed her tank top and bra and pulled them down and exposed her breasts. He then was escorted by several of his friends to a truck which was stopped by arriving police officers in a nearby Sam’s Club a few moments later.

Andy Dick was in the front passenger seat of the truck. A curbside lineup was conducted and the male was identified by the victim, as well as a witness. During a search incident to arrest, marijuana and Xanax were found in Andy Dick’s pants pockets. Andy Dick was extremely intoxicated at the time of his arrest. He was booked at the Southwest Detention Center.”

I’m pretty sure it’s safe to say that Andy Dick is the dumbest, sleaziest guy in Hollywood.  He’s such an idiot.  I hope he goes to jail for a loooooooong time.

No way. A younger, cleaner version of Sex and the City? Alright, alright…So let me get this straight. Instead of grown adults having sex, you want it to be TEENAGERS having sex? You know, to prevent against getting the herpes, syphilis, HIV, and other STDs that come from having too much sex. How the HELL can you have a clean version of Sex and the City. Listen to the title! Nicole Kidman and husband Keith Urban have chosen not to sell photos of their first biological child, Sunday Rose Kidman Urban, born last week.

Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban have rejected deals worth millions of dollars for first pictures of their newborn daughter Sunday.

The star couple have yet to decide whether to release a photograph officially but, if they do, it will be free, a source close to them said.

“They don’t think it’s appropriate to make deals. They are still deciding how they feel about - if and when they will release a photo at all. But they realise there is enormous interest from the public and they are grateful and appreciative of that,” the source said.

“… Nicole and Keith have been enjoying their first few days at home with the baby - Nicole is thinking about things like breastfeeding right now.”
