10. Priest
The thriller is set in a world devastated by war between and vampires. Legendary Warrior Priest (Paul Bettany) – from the most recent Vampire War, now lives with the other oppressed humans in walled-in cities led by the Church. His niece (Lily Collins) is abducted by vampires and he goes out on a quest to find her before she turns into a vampire.
9. Rise of the Planet of the Apes
It is most certainly a new and original story based on the legendary and successful franchise, set in today’s San Francisco. It is a tale based on reality, a blend between science fiction and science, where experiments with genetic engineering led to intelligence in apes.
8. X-Men: First Class
The movie follows the beginning of the X-Men saga, also presenting the true history of some well-known global events. At the beginning, long before Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr took their famous names, Professor X and Magneto, they were two youngsters experiencing their amazing powers for the first time. Initially, they were not enemies, but very good friends, teaming up with other Mutants to avoid a nuclear Armageddon. However, in the process they become alienated, marking the beginning of the war between Professor X’s X-Men and Magneto’s Brotherhood.
7. Thor
The story of the epic adventure “Thor” is the mighty Thor (Chris Hemsworth), a bigheaded and powerful warrior who restarts an ancient war with his foolish actions. Thor is sent to Earth by his father Odin (Anthony Hopkins) and has to live with the humans. A young and beautiful scientist Jane (Natalie Portman) eventually becomes his first love. Living on Earth, Thor finds out what it takes to be a genuine hero as a villain sends the forces of Asgard to attack Earth.
6. Green Lantern
The Green Lantern Corps are a small yet powerful force, who protects justice and peace. They are warriors with superpowers, who have vowed to keep order in the galaxy. Parallax, a new enemy is a menace for the balance of power in the Universe and the fate of Earth and of the Green Lantern is in the hands of the first human recruit, Hal Jordan (Ryan Reynolds). He is a cocky and talented test pilot, but the Green Lanterns have almost no respect for humans. However, Hal something has something that no member of the Green Lanterns ever had: humanity. Hal has willpower and determination and manages to master his newly acquired powers, overcoming his fears, defeating Parallax and ultimately becoming the greatest Green Lantern.
