Supermodel Jessica White was detained in New York on the weekend of – 23, 24 October 2010 – over reports she hit a woman in a fight over a taxi outside a nightclub.

The Sports Illustrated model, who dated actor Sean Penn in the past, was arrested by police in the early morning of Saturday ( October 23 2010) as she left a Manhattan nightclub to hail a taxi.

She is reported to have became involved in a fight with a 28-year-old woman, including pulling her hair and hitting her in the face.

The model was charged with misdemeanor assault and also released, as New York Post gossip column PageSix reports.

White’s lawyer, Jeffrey Mennen, says, „The police report doesn’t sound like Jessica, and she must have been provoked.”

Model Jessica White was a guest on Tyra’s tv show and Tyra is one good interrogator.  Tyra “badgered” model Jessica White into divulging her relationship with nearly divorced actor, Sean Penn.

“Is Sean Penn your boyfriend? I saw you with him,” Tyra Banks asks White, a former guest judge on America’s Next Top Model’s Cycle 13. “Can I say that? Is that OK, is that too much?”

“No, it’s not too much,” White replies.

Tyra then holds up photos of the two holding hands. At first Jessica says the two are friends:

“I hold hands with my friends,” she says

“Ooooh, she’s dating Sean Penn!” Banks replies.

“No, I didn’t say that,” White says. “[We] used to. Past tense

So, she admits it but tries to play it off like things have now cooled off between the two. There must not be hard feelings, though, because she says this of Sean:

“He is a very sweet guy.”

I wonder if maybe Jessica is trying to keep the media off their “trail” by saying they are over?
