Former American Idol participant Kellie Pickler announced she is engaged to songwriter Kyle Jacobs. The proposal took place on a Florida beach at sunset and according to the singer, “It turned out to be the most amazing day of my life.”
Jacobs made all the preparations for the perfect moment, and had a blanket, champagne and candles waiting them on the beach. He said, “We had a little champagne and talked and laughed and cried.”
Kellie, 23, has struggled with family problems stemming from his childhood, as she was abandoned by her parents and was raised by her grandparents. She knows nothing from her mother since 1997, while her father was in jail for armed robbery.
Kellie said, “I’m in the happiest place I’ve ever been.” She plans her father Clyde ‘Bo’ Pickler, who has been sober for a year, to walk her down the aisle.
