Kelsey Grammer might run for political office in New York.
In an interview with the New York Post, the conservative Republican actor says, ”I have had a great career and extraordinary opportunities, but I look at my political aspirations as that last piece of my life — where I hope to do something good for people and pay back a little.”
The former “Frasier” star thinks that to be a successful actor or politician, one requires to have a “narcissistic personality,” adding, ”You certainly have to have a resilient ego.”
Grammer, who next fall is set to star as a fictional Chicago Mayor in the Starz network drama, “Boss,” acknowledges that his TV role contributed to him entertaining his own political aspirations.
The actor has campaigned for a number of politicians, including going on the road with Sen. John McCain, and has helped fund the small conservative cable channel, Rightnetwork, that was established about a year ago.
Although Grammer has not definitively said when he’ll quit acting for politics — or even what office he would seek — he told the Post, he would possibly run in his new home state of New York.
What do you think about Kelsey Grammer potentially running for a political office?
