Animal-lover actress Olivia Wilde has defended fellow actress Megan Fox, following her remark about wanting to throttle an ox.
The star of The Transformers made the headlines when complimented the House actress’ appearance, by saying “Olivia Wilde is so sexy, she makes me want to strangle a mountain ox.”
Still, Wilde – who is involved with animal rights organization, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), defended her, claiming Fox didn’t mean them literally.
She told Playboy magazine, “I thought it was a witty, clever choice of words. It’s rare when actors in this business compliment each other. I’m sure she means no harm to the mountain oxen.”

A recent PETA ad against McDonald’s chicken-slaughtering practice features a ‘Golden Girls’ era photo of the actress Bea Arthur with the headline, “McCruelty. It’s enough to make Bea Arthur roll over in her grave.” She died April, 2009, suffering from cancer at the age of 87.
Arthur was a dedicated PETA supporter and she left money to the animal right’s organization to run campaigns against McDonald’s. The text ad begins with: “Death couldn’t stop this Golden Girl from fighting the Golden Arches’ cruel slaughter practices.”
The ad says, PETA uses the money from Arthur, “to pressure McDonald’s to switch to a less violent, USDA-approved chicken-slaughter method” and to save the birds from “being scalded to death in defeathering tanks.”
The ad explicitly calls out McDonald’s CEO Jim Skinner who has refused to change the company’s slaughtering methods.
