Robert De Niro and Michelle Pfeiffer are in discussions to star in “New Year’s Eve” an ensemble love story follow-up to “Valentine’s Day” movie. Hillary Swank and Ashton Kutcher are also in talks for lead roles.

The movie will be directed by Garry Marshall and produced by Mike Karz and Wayne Rice.

The movie is about intertwining stories of a group of New Yorkers as they navigate their ways via romance throughout New Year’s Eve.

De Niro is set to play the role of a bitter dying man in a hospital and Pfeiffer will play a frustrated secretary deciding to tackle her unfulfilled resolutions. Swank is to play the role of a producer of Time Square New Year’s Eve show, while Kutcher would play a man who hates New Year’s Eve.

Lea Michele and Abigail Breslin are on board already for the production, which is set for a mid-December filming in New York.

De Niro was last seen in Machete and will next star in Little Fockers, the recent Meet the Parents sequel. Pfeiffer last starred in Cher and appeared in the musical Hairspray. Swank is now on screens in the drama Conviction, while Kutcher previously worked with Marshall in Valentine’s Day.

Sylvester Stallone is set to team up with Robert De Niro to co-star in the comedy boxing movie ‘Grudge Match’, directed by Peter Segal.

They are favored by director Peter Segal for the boxing comedy, which presents the story of two rival boxers who are convinced to fight in the ring for one last time, although neither of them boxed for years. Shooting is set to start next year.

According to a Hollywood source, “Stallone and De Niro are expected to come on board as they’re both fans of the director and have both sent themselves up in comedies in recent years.

“If they go head-to-head in the ring it will certainly be a little piece of Hollywood history.”

Stallone and De Niro are famous for playing boxers in the past, as Stallone, 64, starred in six Rocky movies and De Niro, 67, won an Academy Award for playing the role of Jake La Motta in Raging Bull.

Stallone will probably work on a follow-up to his recent action movie The Expandable in the near future, and De Niro has several projects coming up the following year, including such projects as The Killer Elite, staring Jason Statham and The Dark Fields, alongside Bradley Cooper and Abbie Cornish.
