Sylvester Stallone will be replaced by New Zealander Karl Urban in the future Judge Dredd reboot.
The comic boot anti-hero is set to return for a sequel 13 years after Stallone’s initial 1995 movie, with a script penned down by Alex Garland.
According to Bleedingcool.com the role of Judge Dredd has been offered to Karl Urban, famous for his role as doctor Bones in 2009’s ‘Star Trek’.
Urban, 38, will not remove his helmet and the movie will be shot in the 3-D.
Filming is expected to star later this year with a late 2011, or early 2012 release.

Sylvester Stallone is not so worried about the results of his upcoming action movie, The Expendables, as he is no longer driven by the “blind ambition” from his early career.
Stallone admits he was obsessed in the past with making a name for himself in Hollywood, while he was working on the Rocky series. However, he now believes that a healthy and happy family is the mark of success.
The action star tells Britain’s The Sun, “Thirty-five years ago when Rocky happened, I had blind ambition. My career was the most important thing in the world. But I had a lot of problems in my personal life early on.
“I’m a different person today. I am totally dedicated to my family and because of that I don’t feel like I have as much riding on the success of The Expendables that I had with Rocky. I don’t have the ambition I used to have.”
Stallone also considers that his three daughters are responsible for renewing his passion for life, claiming: “The girls opened up a sense of responsibility and caring. When I thought I had peaked, these young children came into my life and I blossomed again.”
The Expendables, featuring action veterans Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bruce Willis and Mickey Rourke is set to be released next month in August.
